Summary
In this section, you have seen several important concepts, and the very basics of how to use f90VB’s Automation Library to create a Fortran controller program. The rest of the sections in this chapter cover an array of other topics that you are likely to encounter when creating applications that automate ActiveX objects. Some of the examples presented here use Internet Explorer, other use Microsoft Excel, and some use objects created using the Visual Basic compiler. The Automation Library included in f90VB does not have an awful lot of procedures, but the few procedures it has are extremely powerful and will allow you to create full-fledged ActiveX controllers in Fortran. The f90VB Reference manual contains detailed descriptions of these procedures.
