Canaima Software has other products that provide full access to COM technologies. ABRO-F (ActiveX Broker for Fortran, currently under development) is a server and a set of utilities that gives your Fortran programs full access to ActiveX objects, whether they implement IDispatch or custom interfaces. TLED (Type Library Editor) is a tool that can create bindings to COM objects by perusing their type libraries. TLED provides your Fortran programs with all of the advantages of early-binding. The performance increase associated to early-binding (as provided by TLED) can be up to four orders of magnitude greater as compared to late binding (the methods used by ABRO-F and f90VB).
